Sarah trained at Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts and has been bookbinding for thirty years.  She set up a Bindery for the British School in Rome and has subsequently always had a bindery from home.

Commissions have included a works for Shirley Williams (Cabinet Minister and MP)  Sarum College of Theology and Wells Cathedral School and even a rescued New Testament for a ship-wrecked mariner.

Sarah’s leather bound books await anybody with a love of paper, writing, sketching or the essential book to have around the house.

With the advent of computers the demise of the book was prematurely predicted.  In fact, people are flocking back to books abandoning electronic diaries and journals in favour of sensuous leather bound ones, and gravitating towards the hand made and hand crafted instead of the mass-produced.

The reasons aren’t hard to deduce.  Leather is such an organic and sensuous material and individuality of design is now a premium.

It’s no surprise therefore that Sarah’s work is much in demand for anyone who loves beautiful as well as practical things.
